Take the right seat and learn to teach. Our senior instructors guide you through one of the toughest checkrides in aviation, so you're ready to train the next generation of pilots safely and with confidence.

You train one on one with our most experienced instructors, focusing on the Fundamentals of Instructing, your own lesson plans, and talking while flying from the right seat.

  • Rate: $75/hr for senior instructor time
  • What you master: Fundamentals of Instructing (FOI), right-seat maneuvers, and recovering from student errors

The CFI Initial rating is notoriously one of the most challenging checkrides in aviation. It requires our most experienced, senior instructors to teach you not just how to fly, but the deep psychology and advanced mechanics of how to safely instruct others from the right seat.
We focus heavily on the Fundamentals of Instructing (FOI), developing your custom lesson plans, talking while flying (which is harder than it sounds!), and safely recovering from student-induced errors in the aircraft.
We love hiring our own graduates! While we cannot guarantee a job, students who complete our LOFT Career track or CFI training are heavily favored during our recruitment process because we know they meet our Above-the-Standard requirements.
